Daily Prayers for August 31st, 2022

Prayer of Thanksgiving:

            Merciful God, you do not grow wiry waiting over us. Like a shepherd keeping wait over their flock by night. You do not lead us to feed in lands that are barren but guide us to a life richly filled with love, meaning, and hope. You look for us when we have gone off on our own ways and keep us safe from danger. For this good that you do for us lord let us give you what thanks with all our hearts we can. May our thanks be pleasing to you and honor you for you have been good to us. This we pray in your Christ holy name. Amen. 

 

Prayer of Adoration:

            Heavenly God, we look up to you and see wonder beyond our understanding. Like a dog waiting and watching their master at work to see what will happen, our eyes are on you ready to respond to your call. You stretch out your hand to us with mercy and forgiveness. When we are wild and distracted you know how to get our attention. For that we find amazing. May the work you do and the love you show be ever present in our lives. This we pray. Amen.

Prayer of Illumination: Lord God of Compassion, We seek you and the abondance of your wisdom. We find comfort in your message of love the goes beyond time. A message for all generations. We come before you to find your grace in hard time. To learn from lessons old of your people and to find comfort in the peace you offer us now. That we all be enabled to learn and grow closer as a community of faith. This we pray in your dear name. We see the beauty of your flowery spring, the warmth of your summer, the plentiful harvest in the fall, and the rest of winter. So to do we give you thanks for the comfort you offer each one of us in every season of our lives. From the gift of new life and new opportunities, to the lose we feel.
