Daily Prayers for October 17th, 2022

Prayer of Adoration:

Lord God, how great is your mercy for us? For you say ‘blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. You show great love the widow, for the orphans, for the week, for the broken, for the stranger. We are people who have experienced lots of love. We are also people who have experienced a loss of home. We are people who have experienced loss of dreams. For as our neighbors’ hearts are broken in the mourning, we mourn alongside them and equal loss. We are people who mourn, and we are people who have been saddened by the reality of life. Our comfort is in you. You are a blessing, and you are a prize. Your love is so eternal it reaches the depths of our sadness and does not shame. You embrace us as we are, your children, your creation, people you have chosen to save from the hand of sin. How great is your passion for all of creation? We marvel in the sadness your love for us. Amen.

Prayer of Adoration:

Lord of the creation, we are thankful for the day in which you have made. Work that would be meaningless toil if it weren’t for you enabling us to do good work for your good and glory. Mysterious as it is to us. We are also thankful for the work of your creation of the day rest. Which encourages us to let there be space. Space in which there is no work. Space in which your silence may be present with us. Space in which we can remember the work in which has been done and remember to give you proper praise for the many blessings you have provided for us within each day of work and rest. We pray that in this time that our bodies may be able to embrace that mystery of your rest that is between work and embraces our very being. That we may be a being with you. Amen.
