Daily Prayer for July 31st, 2022

Prayer of Adoration:             God of Creation, I can't help but wonder and wander in all you have made. As often I see the same tree each day, new wonders I find. I cannot guess why; I don't always find a clear pattern. A bird might land or leave the branches at an unexpected moment. The unexpected happens. The moment the bird often comes while brings with it nothing. When the bird flies away, it usually leaves without taking anything along. So we like the birds come and go, with and without a thing, with and without reasons. Yet in this dear Lord, you do know the reason. You know what was brought and what was left. Like a dance, your creation moves with and without knowing the causes, and we pray that is good. What we do, say, and think may be good as we grow closer in our faith in You. Amen.     Prayer of Confession:                Lord God Almighty, I ask that yo...

Daily prayers for July 30th, 2022

Prayer of Adoration:             Lord of my heart, let my soul rest with you. For nothing in this world steels the restlessness of my mind. No kind word fills me and grows me quite like your words and your silents. You are the storm when my lethargy is great. You are the eye of the storm when I wonder if the demands of moving, working, and wondering become too much. My confer and proper rest for my soul is with you. For I can be a storm with my feelings and words. You steady me by being you and loving me through it all. When I as steel and unmoved like a pond with scum, You make the waters move by your very breath of life. My soul thanks you deeply, my God, for the rest deemed enough and safe in you. Amen.    Prayer of Confession: Lord God, the prayers in my heart feel hallow compared to my prayers and the prayer I mean to say. My tough is steal. My work can only present so much of what is in my heart. I feel limited ...

Daily prayers for July 29th, 2022

Prayer of Adoration:             Incredible God, you sustain us in many ways. When we are lonely, you offer us a community where we might have opportunities to learn from lives different from our own. And live with those who have walked a similar road and empathize with where we are. When we are hungry, you feed us through ways we expect and ways we don't expect. When we hurt, Lord God, we can find rest in your love and care in our arms. When we mourn God, we can find comfort in your care. Assurance in your mystery that though our world might change, you are constant and just with us. You do not neglect us, though we may feel alone and forgotten. We give you our thanks full of heart that you are the Lord God that you are. Mighty and Awesome with love so deep for each one of us. Amen.     Prayer of Confession: Dear God, we are children full of fear. We fear the things and moments we cannot control. We fear responsibili...

July 28th, 2022 Daily Prayer

Prayer of Adoration:                   God, we give thanks for this time to gather as brothers and sisters in faith. We are excited to hear your good word and sing in your presence. Grant us the honor of being close to you as we stand together with hearts full of joys and sorrows. Ever reminded that we are made one by your only Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.   Prayer of Confession:           Merciful God, you are truly a compassionate teacher. You are patient when we have been reluctant to learn your suitable lessons. You guide us to look beyond when we want to explore only the things that interest us. You encourage us to see things we have not considered when we do not wish to leave the safety of a familiar and comfortable lesson. We even test the waters of your lessons by practicing the opposite to see what type of reaction we can get. Lord, please have mercy on us, your growing chi...

Beginning a journey with daily prayers.

Hello friends and family both near and far. I pray that you all are doing well. I have not blogged since my time in Montana for a year of service with the YAV (Young Adult Volunteer program).  I have been wondering how I would get back into blogging.         During that year of service, I was challenged to reflect more on my spiritual journey through journaling. Now I feel that a new season of change is calling me. I feel inspired by my mentor during that year of service, who told me I "should write down my prayers for others." That is what this blog is about. My self-imposed challenge was to write a prayer a day, if not more. I share these prayers for you to enjoy. I also wonder if I should add a weekly bible study lesson on this site, but I will need to pray on that idea some. It may depend on whether those who follow this blog would enjoy an added once-a-week study alongside the daily prayers.         For now,...
